State program of patronage of pregnant women

What is the State Maternal and Child Health Program?

The specified program is aimed at ensuring the successful course of pregnancy, managing complicated births, reducing perinatal mortality, effective nursing care for pregnant women and increasing the geographical and financial accessibility of highly qualified medical care, early detection of congenital and genetic diseases. The beneficiaries of the program are citizens of Georgia.

For pregnant women registered since February 1, 2018, the component covers 8 prenatal visits (until the 12th 0/7th week of pregnancy, 20th 0/7th, 26th 0/7th, 30th th 0/7th, 34th 0/7th, for weeks 36 0/7, 38 0/7 and 40 0/7), which includes:

1 first visit

a) consultation of an obstetrician-gynecologist;

b) general blood test;

c) culture of urine;

d) determination of blood group and Rh-affiliation;

e) determination of Rh antibodies in women with Rh-negative blood

f) screening tests (hepatitis B virus, hepatitis C virus, HIV infection and syphilis)

d) ultrasound examination

2 Second visit

a) consultation of an obstetrician-gynecologist;

b) ultrasound examination

3rd visit

a) consultation of an obstetrician-gynecologist;

b) determination of proteinuria in urine;

c) determination of hemoglobin in the blood;

d) determination of Rh antibodies in Rh-negative women;

e) screening for gestational diabetes

4 Fourth Visit

a) consultation of an obstetrician-gynecologist;

b) determination of proteinuria in urine;

5 Fifth Visit

a) consultation of an obstetrician-gynecologist;

b) determination of proteinuria in urine;

6th visit

a) consultation of an obstetrician-gynecologist;

b) determination of proteinuria in urine;

c) determination of hemoglobin in the blood;

7 Seventh visit

a) consultation of an obstetrician-gynecologist;

b) determination of proteinuria in urine;

8th visit

a) consultation of an obstetrician-gynecologist;

b) Determination of proteinuria in the urine.
